Marie Curie
A pioneer in science, Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize—and the only person to win in two different scientific fields. Her groundbreaking work in radioactivity paved the way for modern medicine and physics.
I find her remarkable because of her relentless pursuit of knowledge and her ability to break barriers in a field dominated by men. She had two daughters and the one, Irene, went on to receive her own Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1935.
